What a lactation consultant does
A lactation consultant helps with breastfeeding, chestfeeding and pumping: latch, pain, milk supply, the baby's weight gain, and going back to work.
IBCLCs hold the international board certification and train with supervised clinical hours. Lactation counselors and specialists (CLC, CLS) take shorter courses and suit simpler questions.
