Does Medicaid cover lactation support in Utah?
In Utah, Medicaid lists lactation and preventive counseling codes as not covered and refers families to WIC for breastfeeding support.

Utah Medicaid's current fee-for-service fee schedule lists S9443 (lactation classes) and 99402-99404 counseling codes as Not Covered, and the July 2026 Women's Services manual has no lactation consultation benefit and points to WIC for breastfeeding support. KFF's 2021 survey reported Utah covered lactation consultation in all settings, but current Utah sources show no separately payable service. Value-added benefits of Utah's managed care plans were not checked.
