This list covers the recalls we found in the CPSC, NHTSA and FDA databases, as of October 19, 2026. It isn't a safety rating of any product or brand, and a recall can cover only some models or dates, so check the official notice and search with your model number before you decide anything.

How do I check whether a baby product is recalled?

Each agency keeps its own search. The model number and date code on the label are what tell you whether your unit is covered.

  1. Search CPSC by product and model number

Nursery products, toys and other consumer products are recalled through the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Search cpsc.gov/Recallsby brand or product, then match the model number and date code on your product's label to the notice. You can report a problem at SaferProducts.gov.
  2. Search NHTSA for car seats

Car seats are recalled through NHTSA. On nhtsa.gov/recalls, choose car seats and enter the brand and model name. The model number and date of manufacture are on a label on the seat's shell or base.
  3. Check FDA for formula

Infant formula is recalled through the FDA. Its recalls page lists company announcements; match the lot number and use-by date printed on the bottom of the can or container.
  4. Register what you own

Car seats and durable nursery products such as cribs, high chairs, strollers and play yards come with a registration card, so the maker can reach you if there's a recall. Mail the card or register on the maker's site.

Questions about baby product recalls

How do I find out if a baby product I own has been recalled?

Find the model number and manufacture date on the product's label, then search the agency that handles it: CPSC (cpsc.gov/Recalls) for nursery products, NHTSA (nhtsa.gov/recalls) for car seats and FDA for infant formula. This site lists 408 recalls from those three sources, but the official search is the final word for your model.

What should I do if something I own is recalled?

Stop using it unless the notice says otherwise, and follow the remedy in the official notice: a refund, a repair kit or a replacement. Contact the company named in the notice, and don't sell or give the product away.

Who recalls car seats, cribs and formula?

Different agencies. NHTSA handles car seats (71 campaigns here since 2010), CPSC handles cribs, strollers and other nursery products (316 recalls here since 2010), and FDA handles infant formula (21 recalls in its enforcement reports since 2012).

Are drop-side cribs recalled?

26 of the 43 crib recalls here involve drop-side cribs, 24 of them announced in 2010 and 2011. Federal crib standards that took effect on June 28, 2011 ended the making and selling of drop-side cribs. If you have one, look up its recall notice for the remedy, and don't buy one secondhand.

How this list is built. Recalls announced by CPSC (since 2010), NHTSA child restraint campaigns (since 2010) and FDA enforcement reports for infant formula (openFDA, since mid-2012). A campaign NHTSA has published as a Part 573 recall report but not yet added to its recalls data file is taken from the report, which is its link. CPSC recalls are sorted into categories by the recalled products' names (or the recall title when no product name matches), and accessories such as mattresses, bumpers and toys are left out. A recall that names several product types counts in each. Brands are the brand names in the product description, else the firm named on the recall.
