What a doula does
A doula is a trained, non-clinical support person. A birth doula helps you prepare, stays with you through labor and checks in after the baby comes. A postpartum doula helps at home in the weeks after birth.
Doulas don't deliver babies or give medical care. They work alongside your midwife or doctor.
