South Carolina details
No fee-for-service lactation benefit was found in the SCDHHS Physicians Services manual (October 1, 2026), the member handbook, the MCO contract or SCDHHS fee schedules (no S9443). Of the five Healthy Connections health plans, only First Choice by Select Health lists lactation services, as an extra (value-added) benefit, along with a peer support program that uses lactation peers. S.42 (2025), which would require Medicaid plans to cover lactation consulting, has not moved past Senate committee.
