Kansas details
KMAP covers lactation counseling under S9443 for nonphysician lactation consultants (rate $40 per session since October 1, 2023); physicians bill office visit E/M codes. IBCLCs qualify only when employed by a physician or physician group. Services are mainly for mothers of infants up to 90 days old (up to 21 months when medically necessary), and telemedicine, including to the home, has been allowed since April 1, 2023. KanCare MCO implementation dates may differ from KMAP bulletin dates.
