Short answer

Mockingbird's Single-to-Double 3.0 and UPPAbaby's Vista V3 are both single-to-double strollers rated to 50 lb per seat and within half a pound in weight (28 vs 27.6 lb), so the split is the fold: 34 by 26 by 18 inches for the Mockingbird and 16.3 by 25.7 by 33.8 for the Vista with its seat on. Mockingbird recalled earlier models in 2022 and 2023; CPSC's notices don't list the 3.0.

Key takeaways

  • Both convert from single to double and carry up to 50 lb per seat. The Mockingbird allows 45 lb per seat in double mode [1][2].
  • The Mockingbird is 28 lb and the Vista V3 is 27.6 lb, which is close. They fold very differently: 34 x 26 x 18 in vs 16.3 x 25.7 x 33.8 in with the seat on [1][2].
  • Neither toddler seat is a newborn seat on its own. Mockingbird's starts at 3 months and so does the Vista's, unless you add the maker's insert, bassinet or infant seat [1][2].
  • CPSC lists Mockingbird recalls in 2022 and 2023 for strollers with lot numbers in older ranges, and found none for UPPAbaby V3 models [3][4][6].
  • Mockingbird sells direct with a 30-day at-home trial and lifetime warranty. UPPAbaby lists a 3-year warranty [1][2].

Mockingbird's Single-to-Double 3.0 and UPPAbaby's Vista V3 are both single-to-double strollers rated to 50 pounds per seat, and their weights are within half a pound [1][2]. The differences are in the fold, the newborn setup, the warranty and the recall history.

Both must meet the federal stroller rule, 16 CFR part 1227 [5]. We don't test strollers or name a winner. This guide sets the makers' specs side by side and says who each fits. Mockingbird now sells the 3.0, so older 2.0 listings you may see used or on resale sites are a different generation.

Size and fold

The two strollers weigh nearly the same but fold in different shapes. The Mockingbird folds to 34 by 26 by 18 inches, a long, low package, and stands upright when folded [1]. The Vista folds to 16.3 by 25.7 by 33.8 inches with the seat on, a tall, narrow package that also stands on its own [2]. Which shape fits depends on your trunk. Measure it.

In double mode the Mockingbird is 36 lb with two seats [1]. Each seat holds up to 45 lb [1]. The Vista holds 50 lb per toddler seat [2].

Newborn setup and car seats

Neither stroller is a newborn stroller out of the box. Mockingbird's seat starts at 3 months, and for a newborn it points you to the Infant Seat Insert, Bassinet or Car Seat Adapter, all sold separately [1]. UPPAbaby's Vista toddler seat is suitable from birth only with the Infant SnugSeat or the bassinet, and from 3 months without them [2].

For infant car seats, the Vista takes UPPAbaby's Mesa and Aria without adapters [2]. Mockingbird needs its adapter, which it says pairs with over 50 infant seat models [1]. See our car seat and stroller combo guide to match a seat.

Adding a second or third child

Both are built to grow, and both sell the extra seats separately. Mockingbird says the 2nd Seat Kit is needed to expand to two seats, and its Riding Board attaches to any double configuration to make it a triple [1]. UPPAbaby says the Vista takes up to three children with its RumbleSeat and PiggyBack accessories [2].

Before you buy, add up the full cost of the setup you want, not just the base stroller. A double with a bassinet, a car seat adapter and a ride-on board is several separate purchases from either maker.

Recalls and safety

We searched CPSC's database on October 16, 2026.

  • Mockingbird: In November 2022, CPSC announced a recall of Mockingbird Single-to-Double strollers with lot numbers 20091 to 22602. The lower side of the frame can crack, which is a fall hazard [3]. In March 2023 the recall expanded to Single strollers with lot numbers 18322 to 22278, plus 23174 and 23175 [4]. The fix is a free frame reinforcement kit. These lot ranges are for earlier production, and the CPSC notices don't list the 3.0 [3][4].
  • UPPAbaby: We found no recall of the V3 Vista [6]. UPPAbaby's 2015 recall (15-196) covered older strollers and RumbleSeats for a choking hazard, and its 2022 Ridge recall was a different product [6].

If you're buying a used Mockingbird, check the lot number on the white label inside the left side of the frame near the top of the basket [3]. These are the recalls we found, not a promise about every recall.
