Under Public Act 102-0665, HFS covers lactation consultant services (S9443, billed in 15-minute units) in fee-for-service and all MCOs, effective January 1, 2024. IBCLCs, CLCs and CLSs enroll in IMPACT as a new provider type and may enroll as sole proprietors who bill directly; FQHCs, RHCs and encounter rate clinics bill under the rendering consultant's NPI, and telehealth is allowed. APRNs who hold these credentials bill E/M codes instead. No visit limit is stated in the notice or fee schedule.
